Reduced Payments for X-rays Taken With Film 

Have you read the recent MLN Matters?  One of the latest MLN Matters explains that X-rays taken with film will received reduced payments from Medicare.  In fact, the Physician Fee Schedule will reduce payments for X-rays taken with film by 20%.  Wow!  

How should X-rays taken with film be submitted for payment?  Effective, January 1, 2017, the FX modifier should be used for X-rays taken with film.  This will result in the appropriate payment per MLN Matters.
