Do You Know How to Study?
The biggest challenge I face as a teacher is discovering how each person learns. I can use the best techniques but the outcome often depends upon how well the student studies.
What is study? Study is certainly not superficially reading material. If you are learning something new, it is wise to meditate or think about the material for a few moments before moving on to something else.
Ask yourself this question: Can I explain what I just read to someone else? If you can't explain it, you don't understand it.
Understanding the Human Body
In order to be a great biller or coder, you need to understand anatomy. Sometimes clinical and administrative language can be a bit tricky. Students at CGS are required to learn some anatomy. We label life-sized skeletons to ensure that students are exposed to each part of the body prior to learning any billing or coding.
