Blue Medicare: No More Paper Explanation of Payments After April 15

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) is extending efforts to reduce costs associated with issuing paper payments and paper EOPs by eliminating these mailings for our Blue MedicareSM business.
Blue Medicare providers enrolled in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments will no longer receive paper Explanation of Payments (EOPs) for Blue Medicare claims for remittances dated after April 15, 2016. Payment information will be available via the paperless options of Blue eSM’s Remittance Inquiry and 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA).
If you are still receiving paper checks in the mail, we encourage you to sign up today to begin receiving EFT payments directly to your bank account for all BCBSNC product lines. Providers who wish to receive an 835 ERA can get instructions and an authorization form online. If you have questions about Blue e or EFT enrollment, please contact the eSolutions HelpDesk at 1-888-333-8594 or via email at edicussup@bcbsnc.com.
If you want to know more about the move to paperless EOPs for our Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement business, please call Blue Medicare PPO provider service at 1-888-296-9790 or our Medicare Supplement provider service at 1-800-672-6584
