AHIMA To Testify on ICD-10. Watch the hearing Live!

FEBRUARY 9, 2015
This Wednesday, February 11 at 10:15 a.m. ET, AHIMA's Senior Director of Coding Policy and Compliance, Sue Bowman, MJ, RHIA, CCS, FAHIMA, is scheduled to testify on ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation during the "Examining ICD-10 Implementation" hearing, to be held by the influential House Energy and Commerce Committee's subcommittee on healthcare. Stakeholders both in favor of and against implementing ICD-10 on October 1, 2015, will testify before the committee in an open discussion about industry readiness, the impact of any future implementation delays, and the best path to move forward with ICD-10 implementation.

This subcommittee has historically played key roles in healthcare legislation. AHIMA views this hearing as a positive step toward ICD-10 implementation, giving stakeholders an opportunity to communicate the value of the code sets and why ICD-10 is needed in 2015.
