Did You Fail the AAPC Exam?

Throughout the pass 2 years some of my students have not passed the AAPC exam.  I have spent hours pondering my illustrations, stories, and explanation of coding material.  I have finally realized that I do my part the test is up to YOU the student.

I notice that some students BELIEVE they are studying.  They are not! When the test arrives, the realize that they are unprepared.  Other students have test anxiety.  They know the material but can not express it during the test.  What can these students do?

There are 3 steps

1.  Prepare
2.  Prepare
3.  Repeat steps 1 and 2 constantly

Make sure that you actually know how to study.  Here are a few tips based on "Benefit From Theocratic Ministry School Education".

1.  Prepare your mind.  Problems or issues that are of major concern should be temporarily put on hold during study time.

2.  Preview your study material.  Look at the Title, subhead, and review questions before you start to read the material.

3.  Consider why the author has made the statements listed. What is the concept that the author wants you to grasp?

4.  Review the main points of the material. Make sure you highlight key words in the CPT manual and ICD-9-CM manual.

5.  Meditate on how your life/job will be influenced by what you are learning.

6.  Seek opportunities to use what you learn.  Volunteer your time in a medical setting.
