"I heard physicians will not need coders! Is that true"? So many people have asked me this question recently. I decided the question is blog worthy! No, that is not true! Sure, medical office software allows physicians to choose ICD9 and CPT codes. Sure, they may no longer need 5 people to post charges. However, they will need the follow up work done? Who is going to keep up with the ever changing rules and regulations from insurance carriers? Who is going to return the patient phone calls regarding their bills?
