What will I learn? 
Students will learn to complete insurance claim forms, appeal denials, post insurance payments, code basic scenarios, explain insurance benefits,  and to handle correspondence related to the medical industry.  




How long is the class? 
This is a 12 week blended program.  Students will attend class weekly and complete other assignments online.  

What textbooks will be used?  
Students will need the standard medical coding manuals: ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.  Students will also use the textbook, Understanding Insurance.  Below is a sample view of 2 out of 5 publications you will need.




How much is the program? 
The program is $3500.00.  This fee includes access to the online classroom, coding manuals, textbooks, and the exam provided by the NHA.  

What credential will I receive? 
The CMAA.  This credential is provided via the NHA.  Students must pass the NHA exam with a score of 72% to ascertain this credential.
